One in Five Americans Will Develop Skin Cancer in Their Lifetime
Tragic to think that there are roughly 3.5 million skin cancers diagnosed each year. The data points on the rise of skin cancer are staggering. Tragic to think that there are roughly 3.5 million skin cancers diagnosed each year in 2 million people, meaning around 57% of those people will have more than one skin cancer lesion that needs treatment.
Patient presented with a pink crusted papule on her nasal tip, which would not heal. A biopsy showed this to be a supercial and nodular basal cell estimated depth less than 3 mm.
The patient was referred in for Mohs surgery; but, after discussing the need for a large skin graft and an extensive surgery, the patient opted for superficial x-ray.
The patient is an 86 year old male with history of multiple dificult skin cancers of the head and neck.
The lesion on the right upper lip was biopsied and found to be an SCC in situ that was amenable to SRT.
The patient presents with a 6x6 mm pearly lesion on the right upper forehead which was found to be a Basal Cell Carcinoma.
